Harry Kane reaches 100 Bundesliga goals in a record 98 games

Harry Kane has become the fastest player to score 100 goals in Germany’s Bundesliga, reaching the milestone in his 98th league appearance for Bayern Munich. He beat the previous record of 129 matches, held by Dieter Müller, by 31 games.

The England striker’s landmark goal came from the penalty spot in the 39th minute against Union Berlin on 18 September, after teammate Michael Olise was fouled inside the penalty area. It put Bayern 2-0 ahead on the way to a 7-0 win.

Kane added a header in the 54th minute from an Olise cross, taking his league tally to 101. Olise scored three goals of his own, while Jamal Musiala and Ismael Saibari also scored.

Kane, 33, joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023. His record is not just a measure of one outstanding evening. Across his Bundesliga career so far, he has averaged more than a goal per appearance, a scoring rate sustained over multiple seasons.
