Team Spirit wins two major esports titles within hours

Team Spirit secured two major international championships within hours on 23 August, winning in both Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 across Paris and Shanghai.

In Paris, its Counter-Strike 2 roster beat FUT Esports 3-1 in the Esports World Cup grand final and earned $600,000. The team recovered after losing Cache 13-10. Anubis and Ancient both went to overtime, with Team Spirit taking them 16-13 and 16-14 before closing the series 13-5 on Nuke. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, who recorded 88 kills and 70 deaths in the final, was named the tournament’s most valuable player.

Only hours earlier in Shanghai, the organization’s Dota 2 squad defeated Team Vision 3-2 to win The International 2026. It was Team Spirit’s third victory at Dota 2’s leading global tournament, following titles in 2021 and 2023. The result made it the first organization to win The International three times.

The double success required separate rosters to prevail in two different games, cities and tournament formats on the same day. FUT also reached its first grand final at a tournament of this scale after arriving unbeaten, adding context to the Counter-Strike team’s comeback.
